Breathedge or Subnautica: which should you buy?

Four questions, one recommendation, and a plain reason for every part of it. This tool only weighs things that can be checked against a source, like price, ratings and which hardware each game supports. It will not pretend to know which one you will find more fun.

Should I buy Breathedge or Subnautica?

If you need Mac, VR, Steam Deck or a mobile version, Subnautica is the only one of the two that supports them. Otherwise it comes down to tone and budget: Breathedge is the cheaper, comic, shorter pick; Subnautica is the higher-rated, more atmospheric benchmark. Both are single-player only. The four questions below turn that into a pick for your exact case.

What this tool will not do. It will not rank which game is "better," or which has deeper crafting or a scarier late game, because those need hands-on play we have not done. When your answers do not point clearly one way, it says so instead of inventing a tie-breaker.
